Winery: Bodegas Usabiaga
Country: Spain
Region: Rioja (no DO)
Year: 2010
Type: Red
Caste: Tempranillo
Alcohol: 13.00 º Price: 2.65 €

Tasting Notes: Made entirely from grapes from Tempranillo, in the second half of October. Alcoholic fermentation with controlled temperature (always lower than 25th) to enhance primary flavors and varietal characteristics. Visually has shades red with violet reflections provided by his youth. Clean and bright. Intense aromas, with hints of red fruits and flowers, with a hint of herbal aromas, characteristic of Tempranillo. In oral phase features great balance, excellent palatal transition. Long and aromatic, full of floral and fruity nuances.
Awesome value!

Personal Review: Simplicity, freshness and aromas of wine forever. In light cherry red color with edging Cardinals, brilliance, clarity. The nose is somewhat closed boot, but when opened poke aromas of berries, blackberries, mint, peach ... and plant a note reminiscent of "sticks" of licorice. The palate is light, fresh, with good acidity and some persistence. In short, a nice wine, fresh (must be served in its temperature: 14-16 degrees) and young at an incredible price.

I stick with: A mushroom risotto

Bodega: Selections César Muñoz
Country: Spain
Region: Castilla León (León Castilla VT)
Year: 2007
Type: White Crianza
Caste: Verdejo
Alcohol: 14.00 º Price: Bottle courtesy of the winery for tasting. Approx. € 25

Tasting Notes: Attractive golden yellow (light) very clean and bright, satiny. The nose shows a good intensity, with notes of citrus, pastries, fleshy fruits (peach, apricot) and very light brown. The palate is broad, dense, with good weight and structure. Highlights mineral notes (perhaps because the grapes come from vineyards in over 65 floors located in boulders) on, again, the memories of citrus fruits, with his remarkable acidity, provide an outstanding freshness . Long aftertaste. In short, a complex wine with character. (Tasting notes Joseph Contreras in Verema.com )

Personal Review: One of our "big Verdejo", those who do not "verdejean". In light golden yellow, clarity, brilliance, glyceride. The nose poke dense notes, candy, jams and quince flavors with nuts. In minimally aerated, mineral sensations appear fresh and strong, reminiscent of the great riesling. Also aromas of fermentation and aging on lees: butter, pastries, yeast, ... In short, a wide nose and big bouquet. The palate is very structured, with great balance and depth mineral. Still needs to improve in the bottle. One finding.

I stick with: Because of its depth, perhaps a bass

Bodega: Cia Telmo Rodriguez Wine
Country: Spain
Region: Galicia (Valdeorras)
Year: 2010
Type: White
Caste: Godello
Alcohol: 13.50 º Price: Approx. € 9.20 (Vinoteca SexyWine)

Tasting Notes: Good Godello white wine with varietal sole, straw yellow, tear dense, medium intensity nose with notes of citrus still glass and lemon peel, to spend with aeration and temperature making apple pear, flowers and an elegant mineral background. The palate is creamy, with good acidity, fresh despite its 13.5 ° and has that characteristic bittersweet taste of Godello with a medium-length finish. (Note Labajos tasting in Verema.com)

Personal Review: A wine to Telmo Rodriguez current dynamic with typicity and varietal character. A beautiful sight straw yellow, clear, bright. The nose is "sexy", subtle ... we unfold step by step the primary aromas of the variety: white fruit slightly acidic, almost citrus, which harmonizes with the tropical sensations looming on shaking the cup, all wrapped in a Atlantic aromatic shell, mineral and amielado. The palate is fat, warm heat and with good acidity.

He hits me with: That air mineral ... a mushroom with citrus papillotte

Winery: Bodega Gonzalez Teso
Country: Spain
Region: La Rioja   (DOC Rioja)
Year: 2005
Type: Red
Caste: Tempranillo (95%) and Graciano (5%)
Alcohol: 14.00 º Price: Approx. € 22

Tasting Note: I did not find, so ... mine. sight dark cherry color, dress, brilliance and clarity. The nose is ripe, intense, with aromas of ripe fruit foreground, almost grapes (raspberries, raisins, figs ...) that lead to sensations of parenting: toasty, vanilla, cinnamon, ... The palate is broad, ripe, some sweetness and a firm step. Ripe tannins and a very modern style of wine.

Personal Review: A most resultón wine, of those who seduce first nose. Maybe something overpost shown over the tops, but their quality is unquestionable. For wine lovers concetrados mature.

He hits me with: What maridamos with a powered rabbit rice with beef broth and it worked beautifully.

Bodega: Federico Schatz
Country: Spain
Region: Andalucia (Malaga Wine Land)
Year: 2009
Type: Pink with parenting
Caste: Muskattrolinger
Alcohol: 13.50 º Price: Approx. € 17 (Sexy Vinoteca Wine)

Tasting notes: deep purple, ruby red, of medium to high intensity .. The nose violets and roses, intertwined with ripe wild strawberries and a touch of licorice. Boca vigorous forest fruit, mineral elegant, very good understanding of the barrels, with a final round and long. Balsamic notes on the nose, with hints of cocoa, vanilla, caramel, white spice, litter, understory hardwoods and cedar. Wrapped in the presence of fruit flavors. Complex. On the palate is broad, warm, deep and fruity, with fullness, and flavors of ripe plums and raisins. Balanced acidity, soft tannins that are very pleasant. (Tasting notes on Sibaritia.com)

Personal Review: The first thing that stands out in this wine is the variety: muskattrolinger. In what appears to be about a variety of Central European origin introduced the Schatz family in Malaga ... (disbelief). With no other ever tasted wine made from this breed, the comparison (in tasting absolutely recommended method) is difficult. In my opinion, this is a sweet wine, broad, with a nose reminiscent of red fruit liqueur, crème brûlée (with burnt sugar) and mineral aromas. A curious nose that gives way to a resounding mouth again mineral, metal and surprisingly dry. Balanced with good acidity. Has life. One recommendation: update the label is too generic, does not identify with the content.

I stick with: We enjoyed it with tender goat cheese and fig jam. I conceded, although some think that a good paella party dress him.

Winery: Bodega Luizdivina Friend
Country: Spain
Region: Castile and León (Bierzo)
Year: 2005
Type: Red Crianza
Caste: Mencia
Alcoh ol: 14.00 º Price: Approx. € 25

Tasting Notes: Garnet red with purple hues, very lively and bright, excellently covered. The nose shows ripe black fruit, very spicy mineral against a very, very intense. The palate is unctuous, round with plenty of tannin, nice oak notes, slightly cool, very long and balanced.

Personal Review: A mencía evolved, with a fruit in "seasoning", and some licorice reduced but very present. The wine has a "cut" floral and smoky, somewhat earthy aroma with slight initial reduction. The palate is powerful, structured, with ripe tannins and bright. Persistent. Smoked. He's in his "moment" with balance and lively acidity.

I stick with: Sausage and smoked meat stews

Winery: Bodega Wines La Zorra
Country: Spain
Region: Castile and León (DO Sierras de Salamanca)
Year: 2010
Type: Red with light aging
Caste: Rufete (80%) and Tempranillo (20%)
Alcoh ol: 14.00 º Price: Approx. € 12

Tasting Notes: Bright cherry color. Aromas of sweet spices, creamy oak, expressive red fruit. Flavourful, fruity, toasty, ripe tannins. (Tasting notes on Penin Guide 2012/90 Points))

Personal Review: My first approach to a wine of this new designation of origin (Sierra de Salamanca). This is a wine that exudes youth: bright, cardinal, bright. With aromas of wild berries, sarsaparilla, coca-cola jelly, vanilla, toffee, ... plus a mineral feeling, almost carbon that can remind carbonic maceration (there does not get wet, because it is newly bottled wine and ...) . In short, a wine bold, brash, young and with an impressive and according to content ...

He hits me with: That "touch" crisp and Atlantic is going great with smoked sausage ...

We started our group activities tasting with a visit to Bodega Muga.
It makes us special illusion to count on our "debut" with the presence of this legendary Rioja winery. Muga has always stood for the quality of its wines and for its special philosophy. It is, perhaps, the Spanish winery that works best "woods" and oxidation of wines. A delicate, expensive, craftsman, which is significant to the tradition and the survival of traditional processing techniques.
His conviction is such that they have their own cooperage, which made handcrafted wooden barrels in which the wines produced and reared.
